The 2010 Focus On Forever was another successful event. Thanks to Rich Wissink, Cheryl Riley, Janine Kohn, Liz Roxberry, and Mike Parker for putting this event on. Thanks to all the presenters who did a great job and taught us all new ways to get kids in the outdoors. If you have anyone in your chapter that went be sure to ask them what they learned over the weekend.

The Richland FFA Chapter from Lynnville, Tennessee is working at Ag-In-The-Classroom on September 23,2009. This is an event where every 4th grader in Giles County will come to learn about agriculture and the environment. The Chapter will have a booth there where the kids will make seed balls from the LEP program which they will be able to take with them. The Chapter will also distribute Rudy ringneck bookmarks to each child. The Chapter is very excited to be working with Quail Forever and LEP on this endeavor.

Learn How To Fish.

Free Fishing Clinics are held at more than 33 local parks statewide, beginning in mid-June and continuing through mid-August.

Trained instructors conduct the 2.5-hour clinics twice daily, Monday through Friday. The clinics teach safety, proper angler ethics, the aquatic food chain, fish identification, knot tying, the importance of becoming good stewards of natural resources and the importance of choosing good friends.

Most of each clinic is spent actually fishing a stocked lake. Additional information on sites hosting Free Fishing Clinics is available.
