Poison ivy is a three leafed plant with a tooth half way on the leaf: 

         

poison ivy has oils that iritate your skin and cause  itchy rashes on the contacted areas.  If you do touch the plant wash the area with clean water emidiatly, use soap.  If you get poison ivy treat it with poison cream.  Rashes will spread from person to person so wash your hands regularly.
